Our Project
Wildly Inclusive Learning Collective is seeking funding to purchase our forever home. We currently have the unique possibility to purchase and transform the historic Old Murphey School into Durham’s premier hub for inclusion, equity, disability and social justice.

This initiative addresses the urgent need for a safe, affirming, and community-centered space in Durham—one where equity, diversity, and inclusion are not only celebrated but foundational. It will serve marginalized populations who often face systemic barriers to safety, education, and support, especially those experiencing emotional, social, or physical distress in broader settings.
More than a home, this will be a place for the entire community—for learners of all ages, abilities, and neurotypes—to gather, grow, and thrive.

Our home will be more than just a building—it will be a beacon for disability and social justice in Durham. A safe, affirming space for neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC individuals. A place where people of all backgrounds can celebrate, connect, and grow with the loving support of their community around them.

It will offer professional and community education, support groups, and inclusive programming for all ages. It will be the forever home of the Wildly Inclusive Co-op, where learners and families thrive in a self-directed, inclusive environment.

But even more than that, our home will be a place that champions equity, inclusion, and belonging—not just for WILC, but for our entire community. A hub for connection, learning, and healing—for our kids, our community, and all who walk through its doors.
